Building Relationship Capital as a fresh graduate
Hi Mr.Quynh,
I think a successful relationship is where both sides get the useful information from the others. This is true for senior professionals and experts, but for fresh graduate, how do they communicate well to build their very first relationships, given:
- The lack of real-work experience.
- The lack of knowledge depth (and width as well).
- No relationship network
I am a Business Analyst graduate, with adequate communication skill but sometimes I find difficult to approach professionals in seminars or events because I don't have much info to give them back.
Could you advise some tips and/or some examples for fresh graduates/students? What does professionals look for when talking with the juniors?

Năm 2011 – 2012, tôi đã tham gia trong những buổi nói chuyện với sinh viên tại 12 trường học trong địa bàn thành phố, 2 hội thảo lớn là Big Show làm giàu tại Sài Gòn – Hà Nội – Đà Nẵng và Tự tin khởi đầu thành công mới của Vietnamworks. Tôi thấy có hai cách chính để các bạn tiếp cận:
- Gặp gỡ trực tiếp tại hội thảo
- Gửi email hoặc nhắn tin trên Facebook, Linkedin, Anphabe...
Trong hiểu biết hạn hẹp của mình, tôi luôn sẵn lòng và cố gắng trả lời các thắc mắc của các bạn trẻ. Tôi nghĩ, đừng vội nản khi người bạn muốn tiếp cận ngại chia sẻ hoặc quá bận để trả lời. Các bạn cứ chủ động, tự tin trao đổi và đặt câu hỏi. Với 10 người mà bạn muốn tiếp cận và tra đổi thì tôi tin bạn sẽ có ít nhất 6 câu trả lời!-

VIM has one program in year 2012 called Students along with Companies. We have already six workshop for over 3000 students in 20 universities. One thing I see during these workshop as fresh students do not take the workshop as chance to build up the relatioship They need contact when they need something from contact. They do not see to build the contact in advance.
So , bulding contact requires you must be active in the community activities. You should spend time, energy, effort to build your own relationship
