Though quick and easy due to its convenience and speed, online communication sometimes do make human seem to be far away from each other, lack of emotions and face-to-face expressions, which make us "human". That's why in our company, even we rely on online communication a lot, we still hold high the slogan "it's time to get human again". One effective way we've done this is by applying the golden dac nhan tam principles in different format.
e.g. to "smile" in an email, beside put an emo-icon in, I normally express a positive or energetic attitude for the day by quoting an inspirational saying from a great leader/someone who inspires me. Or if the people I email are close to me, i send them inspirational stories about life and business and leave them with a magic formula recommendation of "As leaders/team members, let's.... (do what), then we can....(benefits)"
When my team makes mistakes or even when i write to someone who i don't really like, when giving feedback to them by email, normally i read the content several times, each time make some changes to fit the tone with the receivers' emotions/reactions. This helps reduce the "emotional/judemental sentences" that may hurt the people unintentionally.
If the feedback is done via phone, i alws remind myself the prin. 2, which is "give them a sincere appreciation" that they've done so far to contribute to the company. This helps ease the atmosphere and make the mistake handling process later much easier and in a cooperative way.
About the name, now when writing to anyone, i alws put their name right after the "thank you" or any sentence that can be personally directed to them. e.g "Thank your for supporting us, Thanh"
