How much do you tell your employees? In a structure where you are a new manager and you are trying to open communication lines and develop trust, you have to make decisions about changes. You create and involve a group of employees to assist with many of your decision making tasks including some that require the employees to make themselves vulnerable through their honest responses. The employees are straight forward with you and don't leave anything out. Several decisions that you and the group have made are overturned for wholly illogical, non-productive, and maybe slightly unethical reasons. You know the reasons why and they are highly political in nature. How honest are you with the employees when they hear about the inappropriate decisions? Why?
