Do you have your own way to remember names of old and new contacts?
I had realized this is very importance factor in networking and respecting people, it's seem remember name of people that you met sometime is a key of success in the relationship.
In my case,I am a little bad of memory, as many time I had try to remember their name, but it's very sad that I often forget their names, just able to remember the faces.
Do you have your own way to remember names of old and new contacts?

Great question Hoa! Great because I am also bad at remembering names, especially Vietnamese names :D I need all the help I can get in this area!
There are many tips and tools that have helped me, let me just share 2 simple and practical ones:
1. Tag Stories not just Information - when receiving a person's contact/business card, we often ask more about that person, where do you live, what are your goals, personal questions, etc. just tagging a name with a face is very hard to remember in the long run. Immediately write on the business card or key into our phone this person's "story".Example:
Vu Nguyen 0909090909 = hard to remember
Vu Nguyen 0909090909 single guy, very outspoken, seems passionate about cars, lives District 5, plays tennisVu Nguyen will be easier to remember since there may be many Vu Nguyen to remember. Not only that, the next time you meet him, you will remember more about him and this will communicate to him that you really do care to remember him.
2. Ask for permission to take a photo with the person
I don't personally do this anymore but I recommend this if you network a lot. This may seem weird even childlish but it may also work positively for you. After getting the person's contact, you may say "Hi can I take a quick picture with you? I really like to remember everyone I meet so this helps me a lot" and give a big smile. Use your phone and take a picture with the person and save into the contacts.

Here is my tips, hope it can help ^^
1. At the first meeting: after they introduce their name, try to call them by their name in your conversation, such as anh A, chi B instead of anh / chi only. Try this tip, you can see its effectiveness shortly ;-)
2. When back home, write down some infos about that meeting on their business card (where we meet, the share connection between you and him/her...)

I try to remember the name with field/company (retail, marketing, ad ...)or special character (funny, open..).
