    Hi all,
    I was in that situation in my previous company so I have some experience in this question.
    First of all we need to understand what is the trouble of Company that she wants to talk about, says, normally, this is a Company financial difficulties. In this angel, I could like to share my opinion as follow:
    - Management is always important for any Company success. But to rebuild a new and effective management system is very costly and it takes time to do. So it seems to be not suitable in this case
    - Leadership is very important too and it shows its role as the most important thing in a sensible case of Company like: lost of market parts, lost of potential clients, lost of Company's reputation, lost of HR resources....and the final result is: finance is in trouble.
    In this situation, we are like the poor boat in the spacious ocean, no resources, no direction...to cross over this, the existing Management can not solve (if it can, we are not in this serious situation), we need a real leadership (one person or one group) who can answer the following questions:
    - How to balance the very limited budget to a very long list of expenses? Salary, material, debts, operation costs....
    - How to motivate the staff with the limited salary that always be delayed?
    - How to deal with the suppliers with the empty pocket?
    - How...how...how...and the last question is how to survive?
    The leader(s), with the well making decision - good solution, can deal with the partners, make them believe in our potential and the most important thing is that he/she/they can motivate the staff, make them participate in our strategy, cooperate and share the difficulties with the Company which will very highly appreciate them later.

    I have just finished developing training material relating to the question "What is the difference between Management and Leadership?". There is a very insightful and meaningful quotation from Mr. P.F. Drucker. He says "Management is to do things right" and "Leadership is to do the right thing". Do you guys understand the meaning of this quotes? And, do we need both or either at the situation of difficulty ?

    Depend on the real situation of the company you will prefer Leadership or Management.
    If your company runs with clear target/mission/strategy ...the company should prefer Leadership first.
